Our Adult dogs info

The parents of your puppy are well bred pedigree dogs coming from a long line of ancestors of top pedigree dogs from all over the world.  New Zealand, Australia, Canada, America as well as top United Kingdom dogs.  Both in our Weimaraners and Hungarian Vizsla.

We are not blinded just to use UK dogs as we believe widening the gene pools for good health.   We also buy dogs through international breed lines.

The adult dogs we own come not only from show dogs but working dogs too, which we have bred to during the generations of our line to keep the working ability.  This means we produce puppies that have brains also as well as good looks.  We are fully aware that some dogs may not be show champions but they produce in fact better dogs.

Some breeds of gun dogs are put into working category in the breed or showing.  With H.P.R dogs they are not put into two categories. In theory any H.P.R dog can work.  It is more to do with the owner and knowing how to work the dog than anything else.

Some of our adult dogs are docked and some are with long tails. The reason is the docked dogs are dogs bred before the tail docking ban came in April 2007 and our dogs with tails are dogs bred after April 2007.

 Some have dew claws removed and some do not.  Because we have brought in dogs which have not been done.

Our Adult dogs are DNA profiled and micro chipped.

All our dogs are checked by our vet for heart conditions or murmurs and all are fit and healthy.

We do not breed from any adult showing signs of hereditary illness or in fact sick dogs. Our dogs are in prime health.
  We do not breed from any dog showing immune disorders such as thyroid, HOD.

All our adult dogs have been trained as puppies and are all intelligent dogs which are good natured and well behaved.

Temperament is something we look for in dogs and we do not breed from dogs with any nervous disposition.  Or is not good enough to breed on from.  We only breed from steady temperaments. In fact I would go to say that temperament is everything to us.  As in our eyes it is how a dog is to live with more than anything else.  Our dogs are first and foremost pets.

All our adult dogs are vaccinated, wormed and flea treated. We have records showing their health.  All our adult dogs have BVA hip scoring information we can show you in our large folder of information including KC documents, pedigree's, micro chip numbers etc.

We do not breed before a bitch is mature which is around 2 years old and the latest we feel a girl can have a litter is 7 years.  We do not always breed the moment a dog reaches 2 because we look at maturity of the bitch and if she is able to cope with puppies.  For e.g. Viva's first litter was 3 years old.

A male dog we will hip score around 12 months of age, and we allow him to mate a bitch when he is between 14 to 18 months of age depending on how mature the dog is.  We limit the amount of litters a dog can have until we have seen the offspring and seen their health.

We firmly believe that bitches are all different and where as some can have 4 litters others should be retired after 1 litter and we have retired bitches who are not good mothers.  Why put any animal through something that they hate doing.  Each of our dogs are taken on individual merit. All our adult dogs are shown at open or championship shows. 

All our dogs are trained at class's, and we do gun dog training with all our dogs and show training.   Sometimes we do the Kennel club good citizens scheme.  Both Stanley and Chilli have their bronze certificate.

All our dogs get taken out to the beach, woodlands, or holidays.  They are not just at home dogs, or live in kennels all the time, they travel and travel well.

We do have kennels, but we rear puppies in the home.  Our Hungarian Vizsla never go outside ever. They are complete house dogs and will always be so as we know that Hungarian Vizsla do not suit well outside in kennels. In fact ours would give us such a disgusting look if we dared to do such a thing.  Our Weimaraner's however live in and out.  Out day times and in late at night.  They in fact love it outside as they can run about and they prefer being busy.  I stress all puppies however Weimaraner or Hungarian Vizsla are reared in our home.  We pride ourselves on giving our babies the best start in life possible. We adore each and every one, and Rachel (ME) kisses them all daily ha ha ha....This is true though.
