Amber
was named by Darryl. I choose the pedigree
theme which was "The Wizard of Oz". Every litter
we breed we give a theme so we can easily
remember which puppy came from what bitch and
roughly the year they were bred.
Wicked is a musical of course. Amber is the
least Wicked dog I know in the naughty sense.
She is an angel. Amber is a medium sized
Hungarian Vizsla female not big boned, she is a
good colour. As a puppy she was paler in
colour but at a year this darkened to a
beautiful rich russet gold colour.
Amber has a small white mark on her chest.
In her first litter none of the puppies had
white on their chests. She has an elegant head. Very
snooty dog and loves attention. Her ideal day is
to lay on our lap all day long, that would be
her perfect day. She has been shown very
lightly as she hates it and I never force a dog
to show if they do not really like it. Her
sister is the show dog as she enjoys it
more. Ambers best day is just
laying on my sofa. Amber has been shown this year at
the Hungarian Vizsla society championship show
and she tolerated it is the best thing I can
say. In championship shows their are places up
to 5. She was in a very big class and 7
were pulled out in that class and she was one of
the 7 dogs. The dogs were all of a high
quality in that class, so we were very proud she
was in that final 7, but when the final cut was
made she did not make it into 5.
Still we are very pleased with her because
another day and you get another result.
Amber was shown as a puppy and qualified for
Cruft's but with having her first litter of
puppies we did not show her much in 2010.
We soon realized she is very much a happy family
pet kind of dog, and not the dog that wants to
sit on a bench for dog shows. Her mother
Scarlett is a dream dog, and we are lucky that
we have been given two daughters from Scarlett.
Amber is a keen hunter, this is where her love
lies. She swims, she retrieves well and
has brought me back a duck out of deep water, as
well as dummy. She is very good dog and
thorough when looking for game, she stands
pointing quite still waiting for me to tell her
to get in and flush the bird out. As a
puppy I did not think she would have a hunting
instinct, but now seeing her as an adult she is
very much a dog that with loads of training
would really do well.
Amber is trained to come back to the whistle
which makes life very easy. She loves
going on holidays with us and has been to the
Lake District this year and Cornwall as well as
her daily jaunts out.
She
has had one litter to date and this was a
perfectly healthy litter of 9 puppies. It has
been lovely to be in contact with nearly all the
litter mates. To know they are healthy and
knowing we can repeat the mating between Chilli
and Amber.
Below are a selection of photographs taken in
2011. As you can see Amber loves water,
she also has been everywhere with us. She
is a delightful dog to own. We adore her. It has
been lovely to be in contact with most of Ambers
litter and how delighted the owners are with
their dogs. All healthy at over a year old.
Photo
of Ambers Hip Scores. Mostly vets keep the
x-ray plates but I was lucky to be given these. I
shall try and request in future all plates.
We have copies of her score from B.V.A which we
can show you if requested. Her score
is 5:4
